The Texas Longhorns come in with a 6-3 record with two of their losses against ranked panhandle powerhouses #3 Oklahoma and number six Oklahoma State. The Texas offense is directed by freshman Quarterback David Ash (112.9 rating – 58.2% completion percentage – 898 passing yards – 3 TD – 6 INT). Ash’s favorite target is Mike Davis (33 catches – 521 yards – 1 TD) with Jaxon Shipley (33 catches – 438 yards – 5 TD) a near 2nd. Freshman Malcolm Brown (635 yards – 4.8 yards per carry – 5 TD) bolsters the Horns’ running attacking, with fellow freshman Joe Bergeron (414 yards – 6.9 yards per carry – 5 TD) bringing up the slack. This center has helped lead the way to a team average of 31.1 PPG on offense. The Texas Longhorns defense has done its job all year holding opponents to 21 ppg. The one lapse in defense was against the #3 ranked team in the country, the Sooners who beat them 55-17.

The Texas A&M Aggies have to decide whether they play in the Big 12 or the WAC Conference. Resulting in many shootouts to just have a possibility for victory, the Aggies have a high-powered offense and a lackluster defense. Texas A&M averages 43.2 ppg on offense and 34.4 ppg for their opponents. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been pretty strong all year (134.3 rating – 62.4% completion percentage – 2,911 passing yards – 23 TD – 11 INT) with WR Ryan Swope (69 catches – 932 yards – 9 TD) being a constant deep threat. Swope broke a 79-yard td reception a while back this year in a loss to the Sooners. The Aggies have a hard hitting two-pronged ground game divided up between senior Cyrus Gray (932 yards – 5.0 yards per carry – 9 TD) and junior Christine Michael (899 yards – 6.0 yards per carry – 8 TD).
