In the final week of the 2010 Nfl regular season the Super Bowl frontrunners, the New England Patrtiots sponsor the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. It’s a battle of the AFC East, the New England Patriots defending in the number one with a 13-2 record following destroying the Buffalo Bills 34-3 on the road during the Christmas weekend. The Dolphins are 3rd in the division with a 7-8 record following losing to the Detroit Lions 27-34 last Sunday.
A big storm has been dumping snow all over New England the past handful of days, but a little bit weather is not going to hold Tom Brady back, coach Belichick, nevertheless, could. He hasn’t stated yet whether or not he’ll play his star qb in the seasons last normal game. They do not want to repeat last season’s mistake of competing prize players who are vital to their playoff success, i.e. New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker who suffered a knee injury in the last game which concluded his season, and the New England Patriots chances at the championship title as the Ravens stomped them on their own Bean Town turf. Tom Brady has been making waves, and records this season. Last week he added an Nfl record to his already extraordinary resume during New England’s seventh straight win, which raised the Patriots’ record to 13-2. Brady surpassed Bernie Kosar’s mark of 308 passes without an interception. Brady, who was 15-of-27 for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns, has made 319 passes without a pick. As a result of the big win last weekend against the Bills, the New Englad Patriots have netted their place as the top seed in the AFC, and thus the home field advantage for the first 3 rounds.
As for the Miami Dolphins, well, their owner, Stephen Ross, was definitely not happy with their loss this Holiday weekend. He even went as far as to call his disappointment remarkable to The Miami Herald. Maybe it was beause they screwed up a late 10-point lead Sunday in a loss to last-place Detroit that left them 1-7 at home, matching the worst home record in team history. So now it’s appearing as though Ross will probably be finding a new coach to lead the way. Ross might cite plenty of reasons for changing coaches. Plenty of fanatics find Sparano’s squad not only mediocre but dull, with a conservative offense that tends to settle for field goals considering the play-calling is designed to limit mistakes by irregular qb Chad Henne. The primary question for this game is who competes for New England and for how long. Head coach Bill Belichick generally doesn’t tell the press pretty much but there’s little question that Brady won’t play long if whatsoever. Plenty of of the other starters also most likely won’t see much action. New England could still manage to win and cover with the backups though. When betting on nfl remember that the Dolphins regrettably, are last in the AFC in scoring.
