No more is the Crimson Tide the favorites to win the title at the online sports book. They’re still in the discussion but only barely. Alabama dropped to #8 in the country and their probabilities at the offshore sports book went up to practically 8-1. It is a regrettable turn of events for a team that went an undefeated 14-0 last year. They won the BCS National Championship match in their first title since 1992. They will also be returning sophomore running back Mark Ingram this year, who became the first Alabama Player last year to win the Heisman Trophy.
Thus far the Crimson Tide has done nice, but not great. Their first match, versus San Jose State, went 3-48 in favor of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Week two brought them a victory versus historic rival Penn State at 24-3. In Week three they took their first ever trip to Duke, where the Tide defeated the Blue Devils with a final score of 62-13. They barely eked by a 24-20 victory versus the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 4, the first match played between 2 squads ranked in the leading 10 at Razorback Stadium since the 1979 year. In Week 5 they were trounced by the Florida Gators 6-31, and then the South Carolina Gamecocks had their shot with a 35-21 victory over the Tide in Week 6.
Ohio State is the 3-1 Favorite – The Buckeyes are the new favorites to win the national title at 3-1. Those probabilities could change this week as Ohio State encounters one of their hardest games of the year at Wisconsin on Saturday evening. The Ohio State Buckeyes are 3.5 point favorites at Wisconsin on Saturday evening.
Oregon the Second Pick – The Ducks are the second choice in NCAA football futures at only under 5-1. They’re came after closely by Boise State who is only under 6-1. The BCS poll will be introduced next week and Boise State is expected to have the leading spot. That will change as the year progresses since Boise State has a vulnerable schedule whilst other squads have more robust schedules. Boise has only one challenging match remaining and there is plenty of question if the match versus Nevada is genuinely that challenging. Oregon performs in the Pac-10 and they do have some challenging games remaining so it is not a guarantee they go undefeated.
Single-Digit Prospects – There are other squads that also have single-digit probabilities in NCAA football futures on the sports book page. Nebraska is 6.5 to 1 whilst Oklahoma and TCU are 8-1. We already brought up Alabama at only under 8-1. You are able to already look at some of these team’s chances and make some forecasts. TCU has one challenging match remaining as they encounter Utah. Nebraska and Oklahoma still have tests remaining plus the Big 12 title match. Alabama would have to go undefeated the remainder of the year and that still might not be enough to get them into the national title match as they would need other squads to lose.
Long shots – Squads that have an opportunity to crash the party are Auburn at 12-1, LSU at 15-1 and Michigan State at 20-1 and South Carolina at 40-1 and Utah at 50-1 at the offshore sports book.
