AL East Rivals Dealing with Injuries in Baseball Lines

2 ferocious opponents in the American League East who get lots of competition vs the baseball lines are dealing with injuries.

The New York Yankees just started their centerfielder, Curtis Granderson, while the Red Sox put outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury back on the disabled list. The Boston Red Sox have played significantly better a short while ago and they are an issue once more vs the baseball probabilities.

Granderson was swapped from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for Phil Coke and Austin Jackson in December of last year and has played for the Yankees since. He played in the 2009 All Star Game.

The Yankees and the Red Sox are regularly liked in baseball lines. Boston was in sad shape a few weeks ago but they have played significantly better of late even with their injury issues. This season, Ellsbury has played in only nine matches. Dustin Pedroia, the Red Sox star second baseman, has played through his injury. He twisted his right knee on May 15th and since that time he has not hit well. He was batting practically .300 before the injury. He is batting below .200 after he got hurt.

Pedroia has been voted into the AL All-Star team, and he has gained numerous awards, including AL Rookie of the Year for 2007.

The Yankees’ baseball probabilities have been affected by injury issues of their own. Curtis Granderson, the New York centerfielder, returned a short while ago and he should definitely help their lineup. A groin injury has kept him out since early May. Nick Swisher can be DH and Brett Gardner can move back to left field with his return. The Yankees normal DH, Nick Johnson went on the DL and it has been a rotating situation at designated hitter ever since.

The Yankees still rank #1 in the league, and they are still quite good offensively. As Granderson is a player who can get on base, steal bases and hit for average, gaining him back into the lineup will help. He is similar in some respects to Boston’s Jacoby Ellsbury who is out. The Red Sox have missed Ellsbury in their order this season. Boston still needs Ellsbury in their lineup as he does plenty of of the same things that Granderson does for the Yankees, though Boston has picked it up lately offensively.

Ellsbury has been out practically totally since April 11, when he crashed into Red Sox 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre and wound up with hairline fractures to 4 of his ribs. On May 22 he returned, but on May 28 a doctor determined that his ribs needed more time to heal, so he was put back on leave.

During the lengthy baseball season, injuries are always a concern for teams. While the Yankees and Red Sox have survived lacking important players it is definitely more hard. {New York and Boston were supposed to battle all season for the American League East title but thus far this season it has been Tampa Bay who has stolen the show.|Thus far this season it has been Tampa Bay who has stolen the show, although New York and Boston were supposed to battle all season for the American League East title.
